i Light Singapore: General Information

i Light Singapore is Asia’s leading sustainable light festival, and it has delighted all citizens and guests of Singapore since 2010. For the duration of the event, our city lights up with myriads of sparkles from light art installations by Singaporean and international artists. Everything is made using energy-saving lightings and eco-friendly materials, so i Light Singapore aims not only to provide a feast for the eyes but also to promote the adoption of sustainable habits in everyone’s daily living. In addition to inspiring artwork, the festival offers a whole range of engaging activities for attendees of all ages.

The 12th edition of i Light Singapore will be held from 5 to 28 June 2026. It is organised by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA). The festival will spread over Marina Bay and Raffles Place. The festival’s visitors will admire 14 artworks by 17 artists.

Built around the theme of ‘Movement’, i Light Singapore 2026 transforms light installations into living, interactive experiences where every step, touch, and gesture becomes part of the artwork itself. This year’s installations explore how motion can spark emotion, connection, and reflection – from glowing waves and shifting structures to immersive artworks that respond to visitors and celebrate the constant movements of people, nature, and city life.

Light Art Installations

Plunge into an incredible world of lights where movement, sound, and imagination turn the festival’s area into an interactive open-air gallery. Walk through giant illuminated arches at Arch Flower, create crippling waves of light and sound at WAVE, ‘reel’ the sunset back into the sky at Let’s Fish the Sun!, and explore dreamy glowing flowers at Where the Wildflowers Grow.

Breathtaking masterpieces by artists from Singapore, France, Japan, Canada, and other countries will evoke indescribable feelings and inspire us to make our world a better place. i Light Future 2026

i Light Future 2026 debuts this year as an exciting new mentorship programme supporting emerging talents in light art, design, and technology. The DesignSingapore Council presents it. The programme is open to tertiary students and early-career creatives. It gives young artists a chance to work alongside industry mentors and transform their ideas into large-scale installations showcased at the festival. Who knows, maybe it is your masterpiece that will illuminate the next edition of i Light Singapore?
