What Is The Night Festival?

SG Night Festival is an annual celebration of our country’s infinite cultural heritage and art. Usually, it takes place over the last two weekends in August. However, this year’s 16th edition will be even more extended and eventful. From 22 August to 6 September 2025, all Singaporeans and visitors to the city will enjoy as many as three weeks of art, music, and fun.

Where is the Night Festival? The festivities are held in Bras Basah.Bugis Precinct, the city’s arts and heritage district. The streets, with their beautiful historic buildings, turn into the canvas, and great artists create one-of-a-kind masterpieces right in front of you. Yes, this is how mind-blowing building-sized light installations are born. Together with improvisational theatre, aerial shows, and film screenings, all this turns the district into an illuminated universe of light, colour, and illusion. Music, dance, and fun are literally at every step. Besides, the Night Festival provides exceptional dining and shopping opportunities, as well as a wide choice of family-friendly activities

This year’s Night Festival in the Little Red Dot is themed ‘Island Nights.’ By the way, it is the first SNF edition helmed by HeritageSG – and, of course, just like all other happenings in 2025, it is another thrilling opportunity to celebrate our country’s 60th anniversary.

The Night Festival is undoubtedly among the most kid-friendly festivals in The Lion City. Singapore Night Festival 2025: What’s On

SNF 2025 is themed ‘Island Nights’ and aims to take all participants into the mesmerizing life of The Lion City after dark and tell you more about the unshakable connections that shape our past, our present, and our future. The festival’s visitors will plunge into the fascinating stories of belonging, exchange, and connectivity through mind-blowing projection mapping, inspiring light installations, outstanding experiential programmes, and other captivating experiences.

Sky Castle

You will find Sky Castle at Cathay Green. It is an interactive inflatable archway that reflects your every move with a cascade of enchanting colours and sounds. Walk through the arches, create true magic, and feel the power of your steps. Each time – a new experience.

Projection Mapping

No doubt, projection mapping displays are deservedly considered among the hallmarks of each Singapore Night Festival. This year, these eye-catching animations will show all festival goers unique interpretations of Island Nights created by local and international artists. These masterpieces of imagination and cutting-edge technologies will be projected on two magnificent historical buildings: CHIJMES and the National Museum of Singapore.

And when the sun sets, get ready for a real miracle as breathtaking Night Lights installations pop up everywhere on your way through the Singapore Night Festival. 6 sites – 6 incredible luminous installations that bear a special meaning.

Night Lights Art Installations:

• CYBERSWORDFISH V2.0 (Plaza Singapura). A magnificent sculpture inspired by ancient legends and the expansion of modern-day technologies. It makes you reflect on our past, present, and future. The main purpose of the installation is to highlight the issue of environmental responsibility.
• Jiwa Laut (Armenian Street). Experience our nation’s strong connection with the sea. Reflect on life far away from bustling cities and feel the rhythms of ocean waves.
• KU a Dreamer (Funan). Take a break from worldly vanity. Enjoy everything that surrounds you and get free from unnecessary worries and anxiety. Make time for dreaming.
• Two Sides of Our Island (Raffles City Singapore). This installation evokes the feeling of nostalgia, pride, love, and hope. It is about Singapore’s memories, contrasts, and unique spirit.
• UTOPIA (National Design Centre). Embark on a time travel and see Singapore in 600 years. Spectate a serene zero-gravity tea ceremony in a vibrant, cosmopolitan island spaceport.
• Waves of Time: Splash On Our Skyline (Bugis+). Another masterpiece of Singapore’s modern art that pays tribute to Singapore’s maritime history. Reflect on our country’s journey of success and its inevitable return to its roots.
