30 June 2025 became the next step in the future of transportation since the 1st of 8 driverless trains intended to serve the upcoming Johor Bahru-Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link was introduced in the Little Red Dot. RTS Link is aimed to provide the fastest and most convenient connection between Woodlands North in Singapore to Bukit Chagar in Johor Bahru – from the end of 2026/beginning of 2027.

Each 76.5-metre-long, 4-car RTS train will have an optimal capacity of 607 travelers and a maximum capacity of 1,087. The train is designed to be totally accessible and safe for all travelers. It will accelerate to 80 km/h and cover a 4km distance in just 5 minutes! Just imagine – the system will carry up to 10 thousand people an hour in each direction! Wow, that sounds amazing! You may ask, what about immigration clearance? Passengers will undergo immigration clearance at the point of departure – so no more double immigration checks!
