Unpack the glow-in-the-dark spider webs, put on your witch’s hat, and start carving a pumpkin, because Halloween is just around the corner! It’s not just the spookiest time of year, it’s also one of the most fun celebrations that kids (and big kids) can enjoy together. Luckily, Singapore has plenty of options for spooky activities… Here are just 8 of our recommended Halloween events and activities for 2023:

Halloween Night Luge at Sentosa (various dates, 20-28 October)

If you like fast ‘cars’ and jump-scares then a Halloween Night Luge could be just the ticket. This exhilarating event, titled ‘Revenge of Mariam’, takes place at Sentosa’s luge tracks where for four ‘fright nights’ (20th & 21st Oct, 27th & 28th Oct 2023) the courses will be spookily lit and decorated in a scary Halloween theme. And if that’s not scary enough, expect to get a chill when spooky characters appear from the bushes or ‘things go bump in the night’ around you.

Spooky candlelight concert at CHIJMES (31 October, 7pm and 9pm)

For some sophisticated spine-tingling terror why not listen to Tim Burton’s spookiest soundtracks, including The Addams Family and The Nightmare Before Christmas, performed live in the glow of candlelight at one of Singapore’s most atmospheric buildings, CHIJMES? This 60-minute multi-sensory experience promises to leave you glowing, not sweating with fear. Tickets start at $58 per person.

Enchanted house in Newtonshow (27-31 October, 9am – 8pm)

3 hours experience in well-know holiday camp provider – kids will do cooking, make lanterns and have one hour science session. Good for kids from 3 yo, drop off session. Kids will bring home a lot of treats, cooking results and the lantern they made in Maker lab! Only at 278 River Valley Road, tickets price 79 SGD.

‘Trick or Thrills’ and ‘Halloween Horror Nights’ at Universal Studios (29 September – 4 November)

Back by popular demand, Universal Studios is getting its scare on once again this Halloween as it invites mortals to visit its two themed events. ‘Trick or Thrills’ is perfect for younger kids, thanks to its limited spookiness and focus on movie characters such as Minions and Cookie Monster. For older kids the far scarier version called ‘Halloween Horror Nights’ offers an immersive experience across 5 haunted houses, as well as 3 scare zones and 2 Halloween shows.

‘Harrowing Halloween 3’, at Singapore Discovery Centre (various dates from 30 September – 29 October, 7-11pm)

Recommended for kids aged 13 years and above, Harrowing Halloween 3 at Singapore Discovery Centre offers a number of ticket options including a haunted house, haunted maze, interactive scare zone, an escape room and other spine-tingling activities. Warning: involves loud noises, strobe lights, and fog/smoke effects.

‘Trick or Treat’, at the Museum of Ice Cream (13-27 October)

If your kids prefer a chill that’s caused by ice creams rather than blood-curdling horror, this is something they might find really ‘cool’. Each year the Museum of Ice Cream adopts a spooky theme as it celebrates the ‘sweetest Halloween’ in Singapore, with a limited-edition ice cream flavour made specially for Halloween, as well as pumpkin spice latte. Come in costume for the full Halloween experience.

Haunted Puzzle Trail, at Fort Canning (various dates from 6-28 October)

Calling all sleuths and fans of mysteries and haunted tales… This October the National Museum of Singapore is offering an immersive experience called The Curse of the Forsaken Throne, a haunted puzzle trail at Fort Canning for kids of 13 years and older (or younger if accompanied by adults). Participants can solve puzzles and mysteries while hearing haunted stories and getting some surprise encounters in an event that lasts around 1.5 hours. Winning teams even get the chance to win a prize!

‘Halloween Scavenger Hunt’ and ‘Spooktacular Halloween Party’, at Polliwogs (various dates, 21-28 October)

Polliwogs is offering two Halloween-themed events this October. Its ‘Halloween Scavenger Hunt’ is taking place on 7, 14 and 21 October at 3pm in its VivoCity venue, and 5pm at Clarke Quay (free with paid admission). Or, for a theatrical Halloween experience, kids can head to Polliwogs in VivoCity on 28 October for its ‘Spooktacular Halloween Party’ where they can see a Halloween show and take part in spooky quests, meet spooky characters, and chase silly monsters

A Haunted Golf Experience, at Kulnari Mystery Golf (19-31 October)

Offering an immersive blend of Halloween chills and mini golf, this event promises a mystery that participants can try to solve within its immersive 1920s-themed environment. As they unlock puzzles, decode symbols, and play mini golf, kids (12 years and above) plus adults can experience the fun and atmosphere of Halloween.
