Science Centre Singapore was opened on December 10, 1977. Ten years later, it saw a significant expansion as the Omni-Theatre was established. In 1989, Southeast Asia’s largest Observatory at Science Centre Singapore welcomed its first visitors.

Science Centre underwent a significant refurbishment from 1998 to 2003, adding the Annexe Building, Kinetic Garden, and Snow City. Finally, on June 5, 2014, the kids’ favourite KidsSTOP was open.

In 2022, it was announced that a new Science Centre would be opened in the Jurong Lake District in Singapore in 2027. Singapore’s new Science Centre building will be designed by Zaha Hadid Architects and Architects 21. It will serve as a getaway not just to science and technology but also to beautiful Jurong Lake Gardens. It’s going to be an incredible blend of science and nature.
