Do you still remember how “two digit number” bring us to wear double layer masks and use liters of sanitizer? From that times almost all population received vaccine and now situation is much more stable.

This week Singapore hit 58.000 cases, and these are only people who came to see doctor, so you can imagine the real numbers are higher. But same time, according to MOH source, its only 10-12 people on ICU, that is not a big percentage.

We all learned to wash hands, use sanitizer, keep social distance and take more care about our health during this pandemic. And we all hope it wont come back again with endless lockdowns and many rules and restrictions.

Lets refresh our memory and remind ourselves how to keep our families safe during this COVID spike.

1. Vaccination

  • Get vaccinated if eligible. Vaccination has proven to be a crucial tool in preventing severe illness, hospitalization, and death from COVID-19. You can locate your nearest vaccination site at https://gowhere.gov.sg/vaccine

2. Hygiene Practices

  • Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use a hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
  • Avoid touching your face, especially your eyes, nose, and mouth, with unwashed hands.

3. Face Masks

  • Wear masks in indoor public spaces or crowded outdoor settings, especially if you are in an area with a high transmission rate or if you are at higher risk of severe illness.

4. Social Distancing

  • Maintain physical distance from individuals who are not part of your household, especially in crowded places.

5. Respiratory Etiquette

  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your elbow when coughing or sneezing. Dispose of tissues properly.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

6. Cleaning and Disinfecting

  • Clean and disinfect frequently-touched surfaces daily, including doorknobs, light switches, countertops, and electronic devices.

7. Stay Informed

8. Travel Precautions

  • Follow travel advisories and guidelines. Be aware of quarantine and testing requirements when traveling.

9. Self-Isolation and Quarantine

  • If you are sick, stay home. Follow guidelines for self-isolation if you have symptoms or have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.

10. Promote Good Respiratory Hygiene

  • Encourage others to follow good respiratory hygiene practices, including wearing masks and practicing proper cough and sneeze etiquette.
