Can you imagine an MRT train with carriages turned into cosy rooms with first-class accommodation? Well, very soon, you will be able not only to imagine but also to stay for a couple of days (or even longer) in such a carriage as a decommissioned MRT train has undergone an incredible S$300,000 and 8-month-long transformation into the first-ever train-hotel in the Little Red Dot. This exciting project was officially launched on 11 April, and already in the second half of this year, you’ll get an opportunity to book your staycation in the Train Pod @ one-north.

Train Pod @ one-north, created by Tiny Pod that also offers a one-of-a-kind stay in upcycled shipping containers, will boast 8 rooms (about 7.5 sqm each). Each room is air-conditioned and has bunk beds for 2 guests and an attached bathroom. All the details of the original train’s interior have been preserved, including the MRT map and posters of the Land Transport Authority’s gracious commuting campaign. By the way, you can take a virtual 30-minute adventure – from Redhill to Joo Koon stations – filmed from the train captain’s cabin. The video is available on a TV screen in your hotel room. WiFi and access to Netflix are also promised.

Located at JTC’s LaunchPad in one-north, the unique boutique hotel’s facilities will also include various vending machines, an outdoor kitchen, and a washing machine. There will be a cosy outdoor area with train seats used as benches, bicycle racks, magical lights, and other unexpected details that will add a very special charm to the area.
