What is the Singapore Night Festival?

Singapore Night Festival kids

SG Night Festival is an annual celebration of Singapore’s infinite cultural heritage and art. Usually, it takes place over the last two weekends in August. However, this year’s 15th edition will be even more extended and eventful. From August 23 to September 7, all Singaporeans and visitors to the city will enjoy as many as three weekends of art, music, and fun.

Where is the Singapore Night Festival? The festivities are held in the Bras Basah.Bugis Precinct, Singapore’s arts and heritage district. The streets, with their beautiful historic buildings, turn into the canvas, and great artists create one-of-a-kind masterpieces right in front of you. Yes, this is how mind-blowing building-sized light installations are born. Together with improvisational theatre, aerial shows, and film screenings, all this turns the district into an illuminated universe of light, color, and illusion. Music, dance, and fun are literally at every step. Besides, the Singapore Night Festival provides exceptional dining and shopping opportunities.

This year’s Night Festival in Singapore is themed ‘Art of Play.’ Being the birthplace of some of the first schools in Singapore, the Bras Basah and Bugis districts inspired the Night Festival 2024 concept of play and childhood.

The Night Festival is undoubtedly among the most kid-friendly festivals in Singapore. Grab your family and step into the world of magic, culture, attractions, and bright night events that will take place already this August in Singapore. Unique stories, projection mapping artwork, outstanding performances, fun and educational programmes, an old-school amusement park, nostalgia-themed treatments, and the most impressive night light installations in Singapore – well, it seems that even three weeks won’t be enough.

Did we mention that Singapore Night Fest is free? All this sounds like a perfect place to spend unforgettable evenings with your family and friends!

So, let’s find out where to go and what to do at this year’s Night Fest in Singapore.
