It was opened on 8th May 2023 in the place of Jurong Bird Park and for now, it is a part of Mandai Wildlife Reserve.

Bird Paradise is a big bird park 17 ha (42 acres) land area. It is home to more than 3500 birds across 400 species. It’s divided into 10 zones, which represent bird’s world from Asia to Antarctic areas.

Amazonian Jewels
At Bird Paradise, experts strive to create environments for birds and animals that closely mirror their natural habitats. The section dedicated to the extraordinary inhabitants of the Amazon is no different. It serves as a true haven of exotic treasures, boasting magnificent species such as the Golden Parakeet, Andean Cock-of-the-Rock, Saffron Toucanet, and Chestnut-eared Aracari, along with the charming presence of doves and pigeons.
Shaw Foundation Australian Outback
If you’re feeling too lazy to trek all the way to Australia to catch a glimpse of its vibrant avian life, fret not! At Mandai Bird Paradise, nestled right in your backyard, lies the Shaw Foundation Australian Outback – a mini-Australia awaiting your exploration! Here, amidst the crimson Australian landscape, giant emus roam freely while the uproarious laughter of kookaburras fills the air. Parrots add to the spectacle alongside ubiquitous varieties of pigeons, all coexisting with numerous other iconic Australian bird species.
Nyungwe Forest Heart Of Africa
Next up is the Nyungwe Forest Heart of Africa, where the enchanting ecosystem of the African savanna is lovingly recreated, complete with its fascinating inhabitants! Within this section at Bird Paradise, you’ll encounter the intelligent grey parrots, known to be among the most intelligent birds globally, adorable lesser flamingos, toucans, and a plethora of other captivating avian species!
Hong Leong Foundation Crimson Wetlands
This section stands out notably with its grand 20-meter waterfall, akin to those found in nature, around which entire flocks of exotic birds gather. Scarlet ibises, roseate spoonbills, and American flamingos consider this place their home, regularly descending to the small ponds without fear of visitors. And it’s no wonder, as visitors regularly treat them with tasty treats, prompting these large and graceful birds to behave almost like pigeons at a nearby McDonald’s!
Songs of the Forest

Songs of the Forest showcases some of Southeast Asia’s rarest songbirds, including the straw-headed bulbul, Bali mynah, Asian starlings, and laughing thrushes. Yes, this corner gathers a multitude of songsters, distinguished not only by their marvelous melodies but also by their equally astonishing appearance. So, if you happen to be wearing headphones, quickly remove them and immerse yourself in the wonderful music that can only be heard at Bird Paradise, Mandai Wildlife Reserve!
Kuok Group Wings of Asia
The main idea of this area is to demonstrate how birds such as stately cranes, elegant storks, and flamboyant pheasants adapt to life on structures created by human hands.
This section transports us back centuries to small bamboo villages perched above rice fields, recreated with such artistry! But don’t rush to don a straw hat and toil for the ruling dynasty; after all, you’re still in the Bird Paradise park, so it’s better to relax and admire the birds that inhabit this place!
Mysterious Papua
Modeled after the coastal forests of lowland Papua, this aviary is a tribute to the stilt roots of various pandan species and pavilions themed after the houses of the Korowai tribe. Over 25 species of captivating rainforest birds coexist harmoniously in this serene environment at Bird Paradise. Encounter expressive palm cockatoos, the majestic flightless southern cassowary, and the stunning ground-dwelling nicobar pigeons. It’s worth noting that this aviary is also home to the world’s largest population of blue-eyed cockatoos under human care!
Ocean Network Express Penguin Cove
The folks over at Bird Paradise seem to be aiming to recreate the entirety of Google Maps right here in Singapore! After all, the next section, Penguin Cove, transports you from the hot tropical climate to the chill of Antarctica! Here, on the rocky artificial cliffs, numerous species of penguins lounge around. Gentoo Penguins, Humboldt Penguins, Northern Rockhopper Penguins, and more inhabit this crafted piece of the pole, free from any predators’ threats. And just to keep the birds entertained and your photos from Bird Paradise even more amusing, they’ve given the penguins a ball! Yes, you heard that right – for fitness and fun, the clumsy little penguins are playing with a ball!
Winged Sanctuary
Winged Sanctuary, a dedicated zone tailored specifically for birds of significant conservation importance, shelters critically endangered species such as the Philippine Eagle, Vietnam Pheasant, and Negros Bleeding-heart. Fortunately, thanks to the efforts of the professionals at Mandai Wildlife Reserve, extinction doesn’t loom over these birds in this sanctuary. Lory Loft
Lory Loft at Bird Paradise is a section adorned with a suspended bridge and numerous perches designed for small parrots. These vibrantly hued, adorable lories and parrots are so friendly that they harbor no fear of humans whatsoever! You can effortlessly witness them enjoying their baths and even feed them right from your hands. Children will have the opportunity to participate in bird feeding sessions at Bird Paradise. The fee are $8 and you must book this session online first.
Starlings Feeding

Penguin Cove Café&Restaurant
The next delightful dining spot is Penguin Cove Café & Restaurant. Here, just beyond the glass wall, lies the very cave inhabited by a multitude of penguin species. By bus
Bird Paradise has a direct shuttle service that transports guests between Jurong East MRT Station (NS1/EW24) and Bird Paradise.
By car
Bird Paradise is about a 30-minute drive from the city. You can either take the Central Expressway or the Pan Island Expressway to reach the bird park.
By mrt
You can get off at any of the following MRT stations and take a connecting bus to reach Mandai Wildlife Reserve directly. The available MRT stations are Khatib (NS14), Choa Chu Kang (NS4), Ang Mo Kio (NS16), and Springleaf (TE4).
